Science at Braunstone Frith Primary School

Science is taught throughout the school at Braunstone Frith Primary School right from the Foundation Stage one all the way to year six. It is taught though the Learning Challenge Curriculum.

In Key Stage One Science is taught through 4 areas:

  • Scientific enquiry
  • Life processes and living things
  • Materials and their properties
  • Physical processes.

These areas of science are taught the creative curriculum topic questions. Children are encouraged to talk about their findings and develop their skills of recording. Time is spent exploring the subject and asking questions to find out more. The children can record their ideas and observations in pictures and in short reports. To take their learning further they are expected to explain what they have done and finding ways to adapt what they have done.
