Year 4 Energy Workshop
On Friday 9 May Year 4 welcomed National Energy Action into school who hosted an energy workshop which was linked to our Real LiFE mission. Pupils learned how to save energy around the home.
5SM Science
In 5SM Science we have been learning about asteroids and how they move around dependent on gravity and air resistance. We investigated how they move around and how the size of an asteroid impacts the diameter of the crater made on the surface on which it lands.
Stephen Lawrence Day 2025
We recently remembered Stephen Lawrence Day which fell in the Easter holidays. Children across the school created some beautiful artwork around the theme of hope. Children and staff around school also took part in a special daily mile “Mile for Stephen” and also wore orange.
Celebrating Languages
On Monday 28 April we celebrated Languages in Year 3.
Parents came into classes to talk to the children about the similarities and differences between primary schools in England and other parts of Europe such as Poland, Romania and Italy. Pupils also learnt phrases and it was great to learn more about languages. Thank you to all parents who visited and gave such an informative lesson.
Attendance Cup Spring 2025 Term
Fantastic commitment from Smart Squirrels and 6G for having the highest attendance for the Spring 2025 term. Who will be next to raise the Attendance Cup?
Headteacher Awards Spring 2025
Well done to our pupils who earned Headteacher Awards last term.
Stars of the Week
Well done to our Stars of the Week who have shown great behaviour.
World Book Day 2025
Braunstone Frith celebrated World Book day on Thursday 6th March. The children came into school either in pyjamas or as a book character and we had some amazing costumes, both from children and from the staff! Once again our ‘toilet roll book character’ competition was a success. Thank you to all the children and parents who got creative and turned a tube into a story character. Prizes will be given out this week.
During the day each class joined another class from across the school to do some ‘buddy reading’ together. It was lovely to see children of all ages sharing books together and many of our older children asked when they could do this again!! We had a lovely day celebrating reading for pleasure!
Book Fair
Thank you to all the children and parents who supported the book fair and bought books to share at home. The total money spent was around £640, which means the school gets a percentage back to spend on books. This all helps to provide new and exciting books for our book corners. Thank you for your support!
Year 2 at Brocks Hill
Year 2 had a wonderfully muddy time at Brocks Hill. We explored the habitats within the woods and used our magnifying glasses to spot any creatures and considered what their food sources may be. We then had to try out the playground and had lots of fun altogether before it was time to come back to school for lunch!
Chinese New Year
Western Park had a great time learning about Chinese New Year! We have learnt about the Chinese zodiac, dragon and lion dances, tried kicking jianzi (Chinese shuttlecock), and even got to try some Chinese snacks (Diaoyu Shao: a fish-shaped cake filled with rice cake and red beans)! We also saw a pan chang knot, which is a knot given to others on Lunar New Year to represent longevity and good luck.
Attendance Cup Winners
Well done to Western Park and 3J who claimed the Attendance Cup for having the highest attendance last half term! Who will be next to win the cup?
Cultural Day 2024
On Friday 22 November we celebrated the diverse culture of our Braunstone Frith Primary Academy community in this year’s Cultural Day.
Pupils were invited to wear clothes which represent their culture’s beliefs, customs, traditions and values.
